first off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.

that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.

they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

Charles T. R. had the magic wheat, these bastards have hedge funds and stocks. Same old shit from the get go!!! I feel like they held me hostage at a cult camp since I was born till the age of 38. We were caged animals that are trying to understand how to be natural with an alien environment. Anger brews inside but my psychological sense gives me the tools to cool down.

A question for the shunned re: hide or seek

so here's my question as a newly daed person that is summarily shunned.

do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?

they want you to be dead, like you no longer exist, because strict avoidance makes it easier on them.

I outed myself to my fanatic mother and faded. She regarded me as DA'ed but never outed me. She exhibited her shunning and I proceeded to tell her that I would never ever bother her again. She held her ground and I stood mine. The love of my wife and children got me through it. Years later she texted me that she loved me, and allowed herself to be a mother again. Although dry and disconnected as she always was, she is now back and takes some interest in us. What really pisses me off is that she is still on her "donate everything to the WT when she is gone"plan..

Starving them of our presence and attention won my war. No calls, texts, visits, and when we accidentally bumped into them, we avoided them.

ive been reading all these posts about bethelites and special pioneers being kicked out in the street and being forced to get a job to provide for themselves..

and im trying to put myself in their situation and feel the emotions that must be going through their mind.

what if my wife and i both dropped out of school to pioneer and got married at 18. and what if we were very faithful in listening to everything the organization says.

i rang my sister and told her that i no longer believe jws have the truth and the phone went silent, when i asked her to say something she just said if that was the case then she would have to hang up on me and then proceeded to indeed hang up..

I went all out like Sparrowdown. But I let it out at my regular pioneer mother, 8 years ago. I thought that she would for sure out me to everyone. I was going to drag my faded sisters with me since I knew they celebrated all sorts of sh*t. Ohhh, but my mom never bothered to out them because she worked for them. Recently she texted me that she loved us and now we speak again. To my surprise she never reported me, and My wife and I ended up fading comfortably. My mom leaves out all society, JW talk now. I got my family back. I hope you get yours back soon sparrow.

It felt great for me at the beginning as well, but as time passed, I went through a death like grieving state. I then started forgetting my mother and father, and began getting closer to my wife's family. I also integrated myself in college classes. Get a guitar, piano, violin course at a college. Learn to paint, make new educated friends. All these things helped me. P.S. Make friends with a psychologist and take psychology courses.
